Rusty Braziel Rusty Braziel is one of the most respected authorities in the field of energy information and markets, with an extensive background in energy marketing, trading and data services. Over the past 20 years he has worked in an executive level capacity with a major producer (Texaco), a major pipeline (Williams), a leading software company (Altra Energy), and a leading energy analytics and information company (BENTEK Energy). A consultant, author and speaker, Rusty has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The New York Times, The Houston Chronicle, Thompson Reuters, Oil and Gas Journal, The Denver Post, Platts Gas Daily, Natural Gas Intelligence, and numerous other industry publications. Rusty is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and company events and is known for his market insights and dynamic style. He provides audiences compelling, customized and dynamic content that makes sense out of the onslaught of information about energy markets.
Abudi Zein Abudi specializes in energy market pricing, information product development and fundamental analysis. Prior to founding ClipperData, an energy information firm focused on waterborne hydrocarbon movements, he lead efforts at Genscape to create new information products based on the company's proprietary energy data. Abudi has worked in the energy information industry in Tokyo, Singapore, London, Houston and New York. During his career, he held management positions in editorial, product development, marketing, sales and general management. He was CEO for Argus Media, Inc, a Senior Vice President at Oxford Analytica and Sales Director at Platts London. Mr. Zein has a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Hanover in Germany, and a master’s in journalism from the University of Missouri – Columbia.
Al Troner Al Troner is President of Asia Pacific Energy Consulting (APEC). Since 1984, Al has worked in Asia’s energy sector, establishing Dow Jones/ Telerate's regional energy services that year. He returned to Singapore in 1989 to found and then direct Petroleum Intelligence Weekly’s Asia-Pacific bureau. He won the International Association of Energy Economics award for Energy Journalism in 1994, retiring from journalism the following year to co-found APEC. From 1987-1989, he was as a research assistant for the energy group of the East West Center. Al has published studies on China, Vietnam, Singapore, Asia-Pacific Product Quality, Asia-Pacific and Global LNG, Pipeline Gas Development, East of Suez Condensate, World Crude Survey and on Global Acidic Crude Trade and Markets. He has worked in the energy industry in the U.S., Europe, North Africa and Mideast, as well as in Asia Pacific. Asia Pacific Energy Consulting (APEC) specializes in tactical consulting, focusing on research and analysis that help oil and gas companies assess and profit from emerging commercial situations. APEC projects center on problem-solving for companies targeting short- and medium-term business concerns, generally in a timeframe of one to five years. As a small independent shop, the company aims to provide tailored, company-specific services, either for regular core clients or on limited projects, targeting emerging business opportunities. Amy Kalt Amy Kalt is a Consultant and Manager of Analytical Services with Baker & O’Brien, Inc., an oil and gas consultancy specializing in market advisory and support for complex commercial disputes. She advises refining and midstream clients on a broad range of issues, including business strategy, asset and business valuation, crude oil and refined product markets and logistics, competitive positioning, and acquisitions and divestitures. Andrew Bradford Andrew is a Principal at BTU Analytics, LLC and has worked in the energy and technology industries for over 16 years. Prior to BTU Analytics, he was the Senior Commercial Director of North American Natural Gas at Platts and led Bentek Energy’s natural gas analytics team from 2012 to 2014. Andrew’s past experience includes positions at Amoco Production Company and Constellation Energy. He holds a Masters in Energy and Environmental Analysis from Boston University and a Bachelors in Geology from Colorado College. BTU Analytics provides data-driven, market-risk assessments, market strategy advisory services and due diligence analysis for asset acquisitions and divestitures in the North American oil, NGL, and natural gas market. They utilize their in-depth understanding of North American energy data to help clients determine the opportunities and risks of upstream, midstream, and downstream assets and strategies in the face of ever-evolving market conditions.
Ann Davis Vaughan Ann Davis Vaughan is the founder and president of Reservoir Research Partners, an independent research firm in Houston that provides highly customized, in-depth intelligence to institutional investors on public and private companies and markets. Reservoir Research Partners is not an investment adviser, nor is it affiliated with any investment adviser. Prior to founding Reservoir in 2010, she spent two decades as an award-winning investigative and financial journalist, including nearly 14 years at The Wall Street Journal under the longtime byline "Ann Davis." She covered commodity markets and the energy industry from 2006 to 2010.
Callie Mitchell Callie’s 30 year career in the energy industry focused primarily on marketing, trading, distribution, business development, acquisitions and divestitures, and corporate restructuring of business around natural gas and natural gas liquids. She also managed supply chain management, branding, product development, customer service, e-business and lead the development and operations of the internet based live energy network, Energy News Live. Callie retired from Williams as Vice President of Enterprise Services and Real Estate and President of The Williams Foundation in 2008.
David Braziel David Braziel joined RBN Energy in June 2013 as the Director of Financial and Fundamental Analysis. Prior to RBN, David spent two years at Direct Energy as a volume analyst and accountant, specializing in data quality. David began his career in the energy industry in 2006; first with BENTEK Energy before moving to Apache Corporation where he spent five years serving in various departments including revenue, valuation, and gas marketing accounting. David received his BBA in Finance from Baylor University in 2006. He earned his MBA from the University of Houston in 2013 with certificates in Energy Investment Analysis, Economics of Energy Value Chain, Energy Accounting and Finance, and Energy Risk Management.
David St Amand Dave St. Amand is the President and founder of Navigistics Consulting a management consultancy dedicated to the maritime industry. He produces the Wilson Gillette Report covering the Jones Act product tanker and large ATB market. Dave holds an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a BS - NA/ME, Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from Webb Institute
Donovan Schafer Donovan Schafer is the founder of Deep Drilling Insights (DDI), which helps investors identify the best investments in oil and natural gas production areas. Prior to establishing DDI in mid-2014, Donovan worked as a reservoir engineer for a natural gas exploration and production company. He earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of South California and attended law school at the University of California/Berkeley.
Dr. Philip Verleger Dr. Philip K. Verleger, Jr. is Owner and President of PKVerleger LLC, an independent consulting firm. Dr. Verleger’s research focuses primarily on the function and structure of energy commodity markets. His studies also encompass the changing relationship between the energy and economic sectors. Dr. Verleger earned his Ph.D. in Economics from MIT in 1971. He began his work in energy as a consultant to the Ford Foundation Energy Policy Project in 1972. He then served as a Senior Staff Economist on President Ford’s Council of Economic Advisers and as Director of the Office of Energy Policy at the US Treasury in President Carter’s administration. He later served as a Senior Research Scholar and Lecturer at Yale University’s School of Organization and Management and as a Vice President in Drexel Burnham Lambert’s Commodities Division. Dr. Verleger was a Senior Fellow and then Visiting Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics from 1986 until 2012. From 2008 to 2010, he served as the David E. Mitchell/EnCana Professor of Management at the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business.
Dylan White Dylan White is an oil market analyst at Genscape in Louisville, KY. Since 2013, he has worked on Genscape’s Oil Storage Team, which publishes weekly inventory data for key storage terminals, including Cushing and New York Harbor. Dylan's analysis on North American crude and refined product markets is regularly featured on the Genscape blog, as well as published in major news outlets and magazines.
Edna Tovar Edna Tovar is Vice President of Data Services at Morningstar Commodity Data. Founded in 1988, and now a subsidiary of the investment research powerhouse, Morningstar, Morningstar Commodity Data. (formerly LIM) is the global leader in providing software to perform sophisticated historical commodity, energy, equity and bond research. She has spent over 10 years working on the collection and aggregation of data from energy and commodities sources. She has an MBA from University of Texas at Dallas and a BA in Communications from Stanford University. She is a graduate of the RBN School of Energy (Class of 2013).
Fereidun Fesharaki Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki is founder and chairman of FGE, a leading consulting group focusing on the oil and gas markets East of the Suez, Europe, and the United States, with offices in London, Singapore, Tokyo, Beijing, Dubai, Honolulu, California, Melbourne, and Mumbai. Born in Iran, he received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Surrey in England. He then completed a Visiting Fellowship at Harvard University’s Center for Middle Eastern Studies. In 1995, Dr. Fesharaki was elected a Senior Fellow of the U.S. Association for Energy Economics for distinguished services in the field of energy economics. In 2002, he was appointed a Senior Associate of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. In 2008, Dr. Fesharaki was appointed to the National Petroleum Council by then US Secretary of Energy and was re-appointed by US Secretary of Energy Moniz in 2014. Since 2009, he has been a member of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited (DME) Board of Directors. Dr. Fesharaki is the author of more than 100 papers and has authored or edited over thirty books and monographs.
Gregory Vesey Greg Vesey is the managing director and chief executive Officer of LNG Ltd. Prior to joining LNG Ltd., he served as president of Chevron Natural Gas and as Chevron's vice president of gas supply and trading. Greg also has served as president of Chevron Global Power, and before that he led Chevron Technology Ventures. He holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Northwestern State University of Louisiana.
Housley Carr Housley Carr is a long-time energy journalist who has written extensively for Platts’ Megawatt Daily and other publications about utilities and independent power companies, federal and state energy and environmental regulation, and the transformational role of shale gas in U.S. power markets. He also writes about energy infrastructure and related issues for Engineering News-Record, the world’s oldest and most respected engineering and construction publication.
James Gibson James (Jim) J. Gibson, III has more than 44 years of experience in the energy business, including management positions with exploration and production companies and senior management positions with midstream companies that provide natural gas gathering, gas processing and marketing services. He served as Senior Vice President, Processing for Copano Energy until that company was sold in 2013. Mr. Gibson holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Gas Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Jason Ferguson Jason Ferguson is a fundamental energy analyst, trading strategist and developer of energy market models. He was previously Director - Natural Gas Analysis for Koch Energy Services, Senior Natural Gas Analyst with Shell, and NYMEX Analyst with Goldfinch Capital. He started his career as a chemical engineer with ExxonMobil. Jason holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.

Jim Simpson Jim Simpson is President and Founder of East Daley Capital Advisors, a company dedicated to using energy market fundamental analysis to value publicly traded companies in the North American Energy Sector. He has nineteen years of experience analyzing and managing energy information and commodity risk in both gas and power. Prior to starting East Daley, Jim was Vice-President and General Manager for the Platts Power Group. As a former owner at BENTEK Energy, LLC, Jim developed and managed the company's analytical team. Jim has modeled large structured transactions in both gas and power for Enron North America as well as traded natural gas. Jim is on the board of Navarik Corp., which provides software and data solutions to the petroleum shipping industry.
