Canada's Propane Stocks Remain Buoyant, Butane Stocks Back in the Five-Year Range

Data reported by the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) for Western Canada’s propane inventories at the end of June (left hand chart in top figure below) were posted at 6.09 MMb, with an above average seasonal build of 1.23 MMb versus May and stand 1.51 MMb (+33%) above the five-year average.

US oil and gas rig count climbed to 586 for the week ending July 19, a gain of two vs. a week ago according to Baker Hughes. Rigs were added in the Eagle Ford (+1), Appalachia (+1) and All Other (+4), while the Haynesville (-1), Anadarko (-1), Niobrara (-1) and Gulf of Mexico (-1) all lost rigs.
