An explosion and fire were reported Friday at Pemex’s 340 Mb/d Deer Park refinery in Houston. It is unclear how much damage the fire has caused and how long the refinery will be offline. 

US oil and gas rig count gave back gains from the previous two weeks today, with total rig count falling to 748 for the week ending May 5, a loss of seven vs. a week ago according to Baker Hughes.

Total U.S. LPG exports remained robust in April at 2,084 Mb/d, declining 163 Mb/d from March’s all-time high due to lower Gulf Coast volumes but coming in 34 Mb/d above the year-to-date average and 310 Mb/d higher than April 2022.

The EIA reported that total U.S. propane/propylene inventories had a draw of 597 Mbbl for the week ended April 28, well below industry expectations for a 1.5-MMbbl build. Total U.S. propane stocks are now at 58.3 MMbbl, which is 13.2 MMbbl, or 29%, above the 5-year average.

Data from the Crude Voyager report shows that even though weekly crude oil loadings across the U.S. Gulf Coast fell by 400 Mb/d, overall shipments remained over 4.2 MMb/d for the week ended April 28.
