Kinder Morgan plans to relocate and replace a section of its Products (SE) Pipe Line (PPL) system near Alexandria, Virginia, that is within the right-of-way of rail service provider CSX.
The work will be conducted from mid-July to September. The impacted 2.4-mile segment will remain in service while the replacement work is performed, and minimal downtime is expected.
The Kinder project will accommodate the state's 6-mile Alexandria Fourth Track rail project and prevent third-party damage to their pipeline, which is the only jet fuel service line to Ronald Reagan National Airport. There will be no impact to airport jet fuel supply.
