Hurricane Helene is expected to slam into the Florida Panhandle as a Category 3 storm late Thursday (9/26) on a path in between coastal energy infrastructure.

The storm is headed to the Florida capitol of Tallahassee on Florida’s Big Bend coast (see map below), about 220 miles southwest of Kinder Morgan’s 2.5 MMtpa Elba Island LNG terminal and 211 miles east of Goodway Refining’s 4,100 b/d plant in Atmore, Alabama. Two other refineries in Alabama – 50 Mb/d Hunt Refining in Tuscaloosa and 88 Mb/d Vertex Refining in Saraland near Mobile – are further west of Helene’s expected landfall.
