Crude Exports

As discussed in the Crude Voyager Report for the week ended May 29, exports out of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) averaged 5.4 MMb/d, with strength seen across a number of terminals. In the Houston region, the Seaway Freeport Terminal recorded export activity for the seventh consecutive week. While only one Aframax cargo was seen, the terminal's seven-week streak represents its longest period of uninterrupted export activity since 2023, signaling a notable increase in utilization compared with the sporadic loadings observed in recent years.

U.S. Gulf Coast crude exports exceeded 5 MMb/d for the sixth consecutive week, averaging 5.2 MMb/d as global demand for U.S. barrels remained firmly intact despite modest week-over-week regional fluctuations.

U.S. Gulf Coast crude exports skyrocketed to a record-breaking 5.9 MMb/d for the week ended May 15 (far right in chart below), underscoring the Gulf’s growing role as the world’s balancing barrel supplier amid heightened geopolitical risk and resilient international demand.

U.S. Gulf Coast crude exports continued to operate at exceptionally elevated levels last week, marking the fourth consecutive week with total exports averaging above 5 MMb/d (far right of chart below).

Crude oil exports out of the U.S. Gulf Coast rose sharply for the week ended April 24, jumping to 5.8 MMb/d, the highest weekly volume observed by RBN.

U.S. Gulf Coast crude exports rose to 5 MMb/d (far right of graph below) for the week ended Friday, April 17, reaching their highest level since September 2023.

Crude oil exports out of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) increased 440 Mb/d to average 4 MMb/d for the week ended January 23, 2026.

Crude oil exports from the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) rose to just over 4 MMb/d last week, roughly 200 Mb/d above the 2025 year-to-date (YTD) average.

Crude oil exports out of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) averaged 3.6 MMb/d for the month of November, down 580 Mb/d from October and 200 Mb/d below the 2025 year-to-date (YTD) average.
