U.S. oil and gas rig count gained four rigs to 599 for the week ending September 25 according to Baker Hughes data, as gains in Anadarko (+1), Gulf of Mexico (+1), Permian (+1) and All Other (+2) eclipsed a one-rig decline in the Eagle Ford. Gas-directed rigs climbed to 135 (+1), their highest level since July 2023, while oil-directed rigs edged up to 455 (+3) and miscellaneous rigs were unchanged at 9. Total U.S. rig count is up 26 over the last 90 days and now stands 50 rigs above this week in 2025.
