U.S. LNG feedgas demand dropped last week as disruptions at Freeport and planned pipeline maintenance at Corpus Christi reduced deliveries.
Total U.S. LNG feedgas was down nearly 0.70 Bcf/d for the week ending Aug. 23 (see blue-dotted line below). Freeport’s Train 3 tripped offline on August 19 due to a power feed interruption. The train was restarted quickly but feedgas demand was temporarily impacted. The terminal also still has one train offline for planned maintenance through the end of the month.
Intake at Corpus Christi was reduced from August 19-23 because of planned pipeline maintenance on Corpus Christi Pipeline. Maintenance work has concluded and flows to the terminal are rebounding. All other U.S. terminals are operating at or around full contracted utilization, according to our LNG Voyager Weekly Report.
Intake at the commissioning Golden Pass increased last week, averaging 450 MMcf/d. It is still well below the expected 800-850 MMcf/d that would indicate full operations at the terminal.
