U.S. LNG feedgas rebounded sharply last week as Freeport returned from an extended maintenance outage and Corpus Christi intake recovered from pipeline work.
U.S. LNG feedgas demand averaged 18.3 Bcf/d for the week ending August 30, up more than 1 Bcf/d week-on-week (blue-dotted line below). All U.S. terminals are now operating at or around full contracted utilization, according to our LNG Voyager Weekly report.
Feedgas demand will likely increase in the coming months as winter approaches and peak production at the LNG terminals returns. Cove Point will start its annual maintenance outage on September 19.
Intake at the commissioning Golden Pass dropped last week to 340 MMcf/d, which is in line with average intake levels since June. At full operations, the terminal is expected to need 800-850 MMcf/d of feedgas.
