U.S. oceangoing ethane exports in July were down from June after Texas ports shut down ahead of Hurricane Beryl’s July 8 landfall.
Exports fell 32 Mb/d to 332 Mb/d, or 67% of the combined 495 Mb/d of nameplate ethane export capacity in the U.S., driven by declines from the two Gulf Coast terminals. Outflows from Energy Transfer’s Marcus Hook terminal in Pennsylvania inched up to 69 Mb/d in July from 60 Mb/d in June, as Beryl did not affect U.S. East Coast operations (See our weekly NGL Voyager report for details).
Of those July outflows, 325 Mb/d went to Asia or Europe, while the rest went to Latin America.
