Net refinery input rose by 325 Mb/d to 15.89 MMb/d, matching the same level seen in 2024. Input should begin climbing above 16 MMb/d in the next two to three weeks and could reach over 17 MMb/d by early July if it follows last year’s trend. The largest increase came from PADD 3, which was up 215 Mb/d.

The EIA made a rare update to refinery capacity across all PADDs last week, raising total U.S. capacity by 62 Mb/d to 18.4 MMb/d. Capacity increased by 2 Mb/d in PADD 1, 48 Mb/d in PADD 3, 1 Mb/d in PADD 4, and 16 Mb/d in PADD 5. PADD 2 saw a reduction of 6 Mb/d.
