Canadian natural gas demand posted a new single day record on February 18 at 19.10 Bcf (blue text and arrow in chart below) as February’s nationwide cold snap reached its peak. Based on data from RBN’s Canadian NatGas Billboard the latest record smashed away the prior record holder set just two weeks earlier at 18.45 Bcf on February 4 (black text and arrow). As was the case earlier in the month, the latest peak was not a result of an individual record being set for a particular region of the country but a combination of very strong demand across all provinces.
