Natural gas storage in Canada’s most populous province of Ontario has recovered swiftly since late summer and now stands just 3 Bcf below last year and the five year average based on data in RBN’s Canadian NatGas Billboard. With a reading of 278 Bcf on October 21 (blue line and text in chart below), Ontario’s storage operators have closed the gap from a point in mid-August when storage was well below a year ago and just below the low end of the five-year range (green circle and text), by accelerating injection rates and pushing storage to just below last year (see our Analyst Insight of August 13).
