Mitsubishi Power and Portland General Electric (PGE) have dropped out of plans to participate in the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub (PNWH2; #7 in map and table below from our weekly Hydrogen Billboard report), according to a report published Friday by the Washington State Standard.

"PGE entered the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub in 2023 to explore how hydrogen production and storage, and hydrogen-fueled generation at Boardman could be deployed at scale to support reliable, clean energy," PGE spokesman Drew Hanson said in an email to RBN. "Given the exit of an essential project partner in June, along with challenging project economics for utility customers and federal policy changes, PGE is no longer pursuing direct funding for the Pacific Northwest Hydrogen Hub and has exited the project."

Mitsubishi did not return a request for comment from RBN.
