On April 30, Trans Mountain Corporation (TMC), the federally owned company that has been constructing the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion (TMX) was granted approval by the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) for its remaining Leave to Open applications. This means that TMX now has authorization to flow crude oil through every section of TMX from its origin in Edmonton, AB to its terminus at the Westridge Marine Terminal in Burnaby, BC just outside of Vancouver (yellow star in map below). As such, the pipeline expansion has met its targeted in-service date of May 1 and is expected to complete all line fill activities early this month.
