Late on January 12, the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) granted approval to Trans Mountain Corporation (TMC), the federally owned corporation building the Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion (TMX, green dashed line in map below), to proceed with the installation of a smaller diameter pipeline along a short segment of the expansion’s route (red dashed oval). With this approval in hand, TMC is targeting the end of March for full completion of the long delayed and vastly over budget pipeline expansion and the start of line fill activities.
