Canada-based Gibson Energy announced an extension of a long-term contract with an unnamed E&P company at its South Texas Gateway Terminal (STG) and the sanction of a connection to Plains’ Cactus II Pipeline.
STG (yellow tank in below map) is a newer terminal located in Ingleside, Texas, at the mouth of the Corpus Christi Bay. Originally a joint venture by Buckeye Partners, Phillips 66 and Marathon Petroleum, approximately a year ago, Gibson purchased the terminal. STG loaded its first vessel in July 2020 and is one of two Texas Gulf Coast crude export terminals able to partially load a Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC).
