Enterprise announced yesterday, November 20 that its newest Y-grade pipeline from the Permian to its fractionation complex at Mont Belvieu, Bahia, had begun ramping up and is expected to enter commercial service in December. This is welcome news, given the fact that when the pipeline was first announced back in October 2023, Enterprise had expected Bahia to enter service in the first half of 2025. The primary focus of the November 20 press release however, was that ExxonMobil was to acquire a 40% undivided join interest (UJI) in the pipeline with Enterprise continuing to operate the pipeline. After the transaction closes, Enterprise will expand and extend the pipeline. The extension, dubbed “Cowboy Connector” will reach up into the Northern Delaware into Eddy County, New Mexico to ExxonMobil’s Cowboy processing facility as well as existing Enterprise assets (see map below). The expansion project will increase Bahia's takeaway capacity by an additional 400 Mb/d to total 1 MMb/d of Y-grade capacity out of the Permian and is expected to enter service in Q4 2027.
