Enbridge will build $700 million of crude oil and natural gas pipelines in the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) to move production from BP’s Kaskida development to shore.
Enbridge will begin detailed design and procurement in early 2025 with startup expected in 2029. BP in July announced it had made a final investment decision (FID) to develop the Kaskida project about 250 miles southwest of New Orleans, also slated to be operational in 2029.
The 200 Mb/d Canyon Oil Pipeline System (see map below) will combine 24-inch and 26-inch pipe originating in the GOM’s Keathley Canyon area and deliver to Shell’s Green Canyon 19 platform and then ultimate delivery to the Louisiana market.
