Canada’s Wolf Midstream this week announced it has made a final investment decision (FID) to move ahead with a $1 billion expansion of its NGL North System.
The company said the expanded system will be able to recover NGLs from about 1.5 Bcf/d of natural gas and produce more than 90 Mb/d of NGLs, 60 Mb/d of which will be ethane. Most of the expected production is committed under long-term contracts with Alberta’s petrochemical industry. Wolf’s current NGL North system (see map below) can produce about 70 Mb/d of mixed NGLs, or Y-grade, consisting of ethane, propane, butane and condensate.
