South Bow disclosed that the Prairie Connector open season garnered 465 Mb/d of 20-year, firm service binding commitments from Hardisty, AB to U.S. delivery points, from nine customers. The volume commitment is basically in line with the rumored number circulating in media reports last quarter.
South Bow Corp. announced on May 29 a “successful outcome” of the open season held in March that solicited firm transportation commitments for crude oil from Hardisty, AB to U.S. delivery points including Cushing, OK and the Gulf Coast.
Crude oil throughput on the Canadian portion of the Keystone Pipeline was above contracted capacity at 616 Mb/d in Q1 2026, while volumes on the segment to the U.S. Gulf Coast averaged 709 Mb/d on strong global demand for export barrels, South Bow Corp. said in its latest quarterly earnings report.
A subsidiary of Bridger Pipeline is planning a 36-inch-diameter crude oil pipeline that would move up to 550 Mb/d of Canadian barrels 645 miles from the U.S.-Canada border to Guernsey, WY. The idea is to push crude south via existing rights-of-way, possibly reviving parts of Keystone XL in Alberta.
