Total US rig count is up eight in the last 90 days, and down 35 vs. this week a year ago. Oil-directed rigs increased to 420 (+2) this week, while gas-directed rigs held flat at 121 and miscellaneous rigs were flat at 9.

U.S. rig count climbed higher for the week ending November 21, adding five rigs. vs a week ago for a total of 554 according to Baker Hughes data. Rigs were added in the Niobrara (+3), Permian (+1), Anadarko (+1) and Appalachia (+1), while the All Other group (-1) was the only weekly decline. Total U.S. rig count is up 15 in the last 90 days and down 30 from this week a year ago. Oil-directed rigs (419, +2), gas-directed rigs (127, +2) and miscellaneous rigs (8, +1) all posted gains for the week.
