U.S. LNG feedgas demand was relatively consistent last week, with most terminals near full operation, with the exception of Freeport, where one train is offline for maintenance.
Feedgas demand averaged 17.9 Bcf/d for the week ended Aug. 17 (blue-dotted line below), down 0.1 Bcf/d week-on-week. Besides Freeport, all other U.S. terminals are operating at or around full contracted utilization, according to our LNG Voyager Weekly Report.
Intake at the commissioning Golden Pass also increased slightly last week, averaging 350 MMcf/d, which is still less than half the expected intake of Train 1 at full operations. There has been no update to the project timeline, and it is unclear when Train 1 will be complete. Train 2 is expected to be mechanically complete by the end of this year and begin taking feedgas early next year.
