Shell will shut different portions of its Zydeco crude pipeline next month for planned work.
The system’s 20-inch segment from Houston/Channelview to Port Neches in Texas, and the 22-inch portion from Port Neches to Houma, Louisiana, will be offline from September 24 for 72-96 hours, or 3-4 days. The 24-inch section running from Houma to Clovelly in Louisiana will also be down for the same period.
Oil receipts at Port Neches also won’t be available during this time. As a result of these outages, September flows on Zydeco will be prorated to a lower capacity.
Meanwhile, offshore receipts into Houston will continue as long as storage tanks can contain the volumes. Zydeco’s 18-inch segment from Houma to St. James, Louisiana, and Houma docks will continue service.
