An “operational incident” that occurred Thursday night led Permian Highway Pipeline (PHP) to be taken out of service Friday, Kinder Morgan said in a force majeure notice posted to its website.
Kinder Morgan said it expects PHP to resume full service on Tuesday, August 1, with the possibility that partial service could resume Monday, July 31.
The pipeline (yellow line in map below) moves 2.1 Bcf/d of natural gas from the Waha hub in West Texas to Colorado County, west of Houston and near the Gulf Coast. PHP is jointly owned by subsidiaries of Kinetic Holdings (53.3%), Kinder Morgan (26.7%) and ExxonMobil (20%).
PHP’s shut-in sent the Waha cash price into negative territory Friday, Wood Mackenzie said in a note to customers.
