Crude oil flows from the Permian Basin to Nederland rebounded in March after two consecutive months of decreases. According to the latest data in our Crude Oil Permian report, March’s Nederland-bound total was 802 Mb/d, a 12% increase from February but still below 2023 levels (see below graph). Pipelines to Corpus Christi have been running near capacity for some time, leading to a shift in flows to the U.S. Gulf Coast. Nederland’s share of total Permian flows to the U.S. Gulf Coast has dropped from 16% in 2023 to 14% in March, with much of the production growth in the Permian Basin now directed toward Houston.

Adaptation - With Changes on the Horizon, Nederland/Beaumont Export Hub Increasing Focus On NGLs

In today’s RBN blog, we discuss what’s ahead for the region and its emergence as a leader in NGL exports.
