Gas intake at LNG Canada, located in Kitimat, BC, slipped lower in September to 550 MMcf/d (green column in chart below) based on data released by the British Columbia Oil and Gas Commission (BCOGC), down from August’s 606 MMcf/d and a little lower than RBN’s estimate of 566 MMcf/d as discussed in RBN’s Canadian NatGas Billboard. Based on our estimate from shipping data that a total of six cargoes of LNG will be loaded in October, this would translate as gas intake in the range of 657 MMcf/d for the month. However, given a recent unplanned flaring event on October 15, we are conservatively estimating gas intake at 590 MMcf/d (red column) for October which will be subject to revision as more data is obtained in the future.
