Crude oil exports out of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) soared to over 5 MMb/d last week (far right in chart below), extending gains from the prior week’s surge and matching the all-time high in our Crude Voyager data set during the same week in 2023. Volumes rose to the Asia-Pacific (APAC), Europe, and Africa, underscoring recent global demand for U.S. barrels. All Gulf Coast loading hubs with the exception of Corpus Christi posted weekly gains, with Louisiana stealing the spotlight by surging to record its strongest week since November 2024. Despite Corpus Christi’s week-on-week drop, all loading hubs now sit above their 2025 YTD averages.

Ten Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), the second-highest count of 2025, partially loaded at Gulf Coast ports before completing loading offshore. The VLCC Twin Pollux for examplewas loaded completely via reverse-lightering operations in the Gulf last week and chartered by Vitol for delivery to India.

Hey RBN!  We checked with Merc today, VLCC Twin Pollux is heading to Sikka, India, and its Vitol, not Merc.  We double checked since a V of WTI into China would be a game changer.  Anyhow, just wanted to share our soundings since we love all the work RBN does!

Cheers,

Jeremy
