Data from the Crude Voyager report shows that loading activity across the U.S. Gulf Coast continued at the same pace as in the previous two weeks as terminals collectively loaded 3.5 MMb/d of crude oil in the week ended September 15, up 29 Mb/d from the week before. Despite the slight increase, overall volumes have been low since the beginning of September, with month-to-date loadings at 3.6 MMb/d. All regions, except for Corpus Christi, loaded more cargoes last week. Shipments from the Corpus Christi region fell below 2 MMb/d for the first time in seven weeks.
Thirty-two tankers loaded crude oil across the U.S. Gulf Coast, up two from the previous week. This included three Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), the lowest weekly count since early July. Louisiana’s NuStar St. James’ terminal loaded crude onto a seaborne tanker for the first time this year.
