The EIA reported total U.S. propane/propylene inventories had a withdrawal of 3 MMbbl for the week ended December 6, which was above industry expectations for a decrease of 2.1 MMbbl. Total U.S. propane stocks are now at 93 MMbbl, which is 2.5 MMbbl, or 2.71% above the same week in 2023 and the 5-year maximum. Inventories are 7 MMbbl, or 8.2%, above the 5-year average. Last week, propane inventories experienced a below-average draw for the week. However, this week’s draw surged, exceeding the weekly average by 1.4 MMbbl.
