US oil and gas rig count was unchanged at 539 for the week ending August 15 according to Baker Hughes.  Rigs were added in the Haynesville (+2) and Eagle Ford (+1), while the Permian (-1) and All Other (-2) both posted weekly declines. The Haynesville climbed to 45 rigs this week, its highest since February of 2024. Total US rig count is down 36 in the last 90 days, and down 47 vs. this week a year ago. Oil-directed rigs climbed to 412 (+1) this week, with gas-directed rigs falling to 122 (-1) and miscellaneous rigs flat at five.
