U.S. LNG feedgas demand averaged 13.87 Bcf/d last week, about the same as the previous week, with slightly higher flows at Plaquemines, Sabine Pass and Corpus Christi offset by lower flows at Cove Point and Freeport.
Flows to Cove Point dropped early last week due to cold weather but have rebounded and feedgas intake at the terminal is in line with winter peak levels (see chart below). Flows to Freeport were consistent with full utilization throughout the week but dropped on January 12. Likely, one of the trains tripped offline, causing this change, but no report has been filed with Texas state regulators as of January 14.
Feedgas intake at Plaquemines LNG increased 130 MMcf/d week-on-week to 650 MMcf/d, and flows reached nearly 1 Bcf/d over the weekend, a new high for the commissioning terminal.
Plaquemines is now receiving feedgas deliveries from both Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) and Texas Eastern (TETCO). The interconnect with TGP has been the terminal’s primary source of feedgas during commissioning, but the interconnect with TETCO fromthe Venice Extension project began reporting flows on January 1 as well. All U.S. terminals are currently producing at or above expected full utilization levels.
