The EIA reported total U.S. propane/propylene inventories had a build of 4.4 MMbbl for the week ended July 11, which was more than industry expectations for an increase of 2.3 MMbbl and more than the average build for the week of 2.4 MMbbl. This marks the fourth consecutive week that the build has exceeded the weekly average. If this build rate continues over the next couple of weeks, storage levels could end up above the five-year high. Total U.S. propane stocks are now at 82.8 MMbbl, on par with the same week in 2024 but 1.8 MMbbl, or 2%, less than the 5-year maximum. Inventories are 9.6 MMbbl, or 13%, above the 5-year average.
