The EIA reported that total U.S. propane/propylene inventories had a build of 5.1 MMbbl for the week ended June 20, the largest increase for the 25th week of the year since reporting for the full country began in 2004. The build was nearly twice industry expectations for an increase of 2.7 MMbbl and above the average build for the week of 2.4 MMbbl. Total U.S. propane stocks are now at 72.6 MMbbl, which is 920 Mbbl, or 1%, less than the same week in 2024 and 6.9 MMbbl, or 9%, less than the 5-year maximum. Inventories are 5.7 MMbbl, or 9%, above the 5-year average. The current level of inventory marks a dramatic shift from the lower levels seen between April and May.
