U.S. oil and gas rig count was unchanged for the second consecutive week, holding at 551 rigs for the week ending February 20 according to Baker Hughes. Rigs were added in the Permian (+1) and All Other (+2), while the Gulf of Mexico (-2) and Haynesville (-1) both declined this week. Total rig count is up two in the last 90 days, but remains down 37 from this week a year ago. Oil-directed rigs at 409, gas-directed rigs at 133 and miscellaneous rigs at 9 were all unchanged this week as well.
