On December 19, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) granted a three-year extension for the construction of the MVP Southgate pipeline. MVP Southgate (in dark purple on the below map) is a proposed 75-mile line intended to take gas from the end of Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) in southern Virginia and transport it to an end point in Alamance County, North Carolina. The proposed line would have a capacity of 375 MMcf/d, with most of this gas supplying the electric utility Dominion Energy North Carolina.
