The EIA reported an +18 Bcf injection for the week ended August 18th, the lowest of the season and the new 5yr minimum for the comparable storage week. Estimates ranged from +27 Bcf to +50 Bcf, this week was a shocker to say the least.
The comparable storage week last year reported a +60 Bcf injection and the 5 year average sat at +53 Bcf. According to the EIA, the driver in last week's storage change was the South Central U.S. region, which had a net change in working gas in underground storage of -21 Bcf, the only region to report a net deficit.
