The Department of Energy (DOE) has issued yet another tender seeking supplies to refill its Bayou Choctaw, Louisiana, storage site. The latest tender seeks 4.5 MMbbl for delivery during October-December.

Bids are due July 18, no later than 11:00 am CT. The agency had sought barrels for the site for delivery during September-December in a few previous tenders, but they were not awarded. The Bayou Choctaw site recently completed its Life Extension 2 Project. The DOE continues to aim for $79/bbl or less for its restocking purchases, significantly lower than the average of about $95/bbl DOE received for the 2022 emergency SPR sales.
