In its earnings call discussing 4th quarter 2025 results, Appalachian producer CNX Resources announced guidance on production for the coming year. The company expects annual production to range from 1.66 to 1.7 Bcfe/d. This is down just slightly from the 1.72 Bcfe/d of production that the company recorded in 2025. The company reported that production in Q4 2025 was 5.6% lower than in Q3, but this is expected to stabilize next year. CNX plans to turn-in-line (TIL) 27 Marcellus wells and three Deep Utica wells in the coming year. However, the company affirmed in its earnings call that the low number of TIL wells in the Deep Utica did not reflect a change in its optimistic outlook toward the Deep Utica long-term. CEO Alan Shepard claimed that CNX has “a lot of TILs from last year coming online” in the Deep Utica in 2026, so the apparent drop is more a result of timing than underlying sentiment. All the firm’s production is in West Virginia, Ohio and Southwest Pennsylvania, as seen in the map below.
