The nation’s largest exporter of LNG gave an update on construction at Corpus Christi LNG during its earnings call on Thursday. The company estimates that more than 87% of construction work related to the original Corpus Christi Stage 3 project has now been completed, along with nearly all engineering and procurement work. Cheniere’s CEO Jack Fusco stated that Trains 3 and 4 of the project were substantially completed in Q4 2025, and substantial completion of Trains 5, 6 and 7 are expected to occur later this year. For Train 5 specifically, first LNG was achieved earlier this month.

Cheniere also reported progress on the Midscale Trains 8 and 9 project, which only reached Final Investment Decision (FID) in June of last year. Substantial completion of that project is now expected in 2028.
