On March 11, ARC Resources, one of the largest natural gas producers in Western Canada, announced that it had entered into a long-term sales and purchase agreement (SPA) with ExxonMobil LNG Asia Pacific, an affiliate of ExxonMobil, for the supply of 1.5 MMtpa (million tonnes per annum) of LNG from the Cedar LNG project currently under construction outside of Kitimat, BC (rendition below). The SPA will come into effect once Cedar LNG enters commercial operations, currently anticipated by late 2028. The LNG will be sold at international LNG prices, though specific details were not released.
