LNG Voyager Weekly - Oct 6, 2026

Highlights
  • Cove Point Offline, Restart Likely Soon
  • LNG Canada Phase 2 Takes FID
  • Golden Pass Delays Weigh on U.S. Feedgas Demand
Analysis & Insights

U.S. LNG feedgas demand moved lower last week as brief maintenance at Freeport and continued volatility at Golden Pass weighed on intake. Golden Pass continues to face delays bringing its first train fully online, with no timeline clarifications announced. Cove Point also remains offline for annual maintenance but is expected to restart soon, while all other U.S. terminals are operating at or above full utilization. LNG Canada’s partners have reached a positive final investment decision (FID) on the Phase 2 expansion of the project in Kitimat, British Columbia, which will double the size of the terminal early next decade.
