  • Winter Storm Fern disrupts U.S. LNG Feedgas Demand
  • Production Freeze-offs, Price Spikes Drive LNG Pullback
  • LNG Feedgas Already Recovering, Quick Bounce Back Expected
Analysis & Insights

Winter Storm Fern caused a sharp but brief disruption to U.S. LNG feedgas demand as production freeze-offs, surging domestic demand, and extreme price volatility forced terminals to cut intake. Feedgas fell across every U.S. terminal over the weekend, with the most severe impacts in the Southeast, and at Sabine Pass and Freeport. As temperatures begin to rise, feedgas demand is already rebounding and LNG operations are normalizing. While exports may see a slight lag from the storm, overall impacts are expected to be limited due to onsite storage.
