With Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) resuming construction and growing confidence that it will be completed later this year, Williams said in its second-quarter earnings call that more brownfield expansions are on the way for its Transco Pipeline.

MVP will move as much as 2 Bcf/d from northwestern West Virginia to its southern terminus at Transco’s Station 165 in Pittsylvania County, VA. Citing that influx of supply, along with the “continued wave of increasing demand” from downstream power markets, Williams CEO Alan Armstrong signaled that the proposed Southeast Supply Enhancement project — which would provide incremental southbound capacity from Station 165 — is likely to move forward. He noted in his comments that a recent non-binding open season for the expansion yielded customer interest that exceeded the ~800 MMcf/d of capacity that was offered at a minimum 20-year term.
