After hitting a record high in June, propane gas plant production for July declined for the first time in six months.  As shown on the left-hand chart below, monthly U.S. propane gas plant production for July 2023, as reported by the EIA on September 29, fell to 2,019 Mb/d, which was 35 Mb/d, or 1.7%, below what was recorded in June 2023.  Total U.S. gas plant production was 107 Mb/d, or 5.7%, higher than output for the month in 2022.  Not surprisingly, most of the decline in propane supply was in PADD 3 (Gulf Coast), which represents about 60% of total U.S. production.  As shown on the right-hand chart below, Gulf Coast gas plant supply fell to 1,173 Mb/d, down 32 Mb/d, or 2.7%, from June.  Monthly production for the region was 60 Mb/d, or 5.4%, higher than in July 2022.
