Total U.S. propane/propylene inventories increased by 3 MMbbl to 93.5 MMbbl for the week ended July 10 (red line in the chart below). Inventories remain 10.6 MMbbl, or 13%, above the same week in 2025 (blue line), 8.8 MMbbl, or 10%, above the previous five-year maximum, and 19.7 MMbbl, or 27%, above the five-year average (green line). Although inventories remain above the previous five-year maximum, that margin has narrowed steadily from 40% on April 10 to 10% for the week ended July 10.
U.S. propane/propylene production averaged 2.91 MMb/d for the week ended July 10 (red line in the chart below), about 4% below the record 3.04 MMb/d reached on April 3. Production has trended lower since early May but remains about 2% above both the same week in 2025 (blue line) and the previous five-year maximum.
