The EIA reported a 2.1 MMbbl build in total U.S. propane/propylene inventories for the week ending April 17, exceeding industry expectations of a 1.5 MMbbl increase and the average build for the week of 1.2 MMbbl. Total inventories now stand at 80 MMbbl, with stocks 33.4 MMbbl, or 72%, above the same week in 2025, 21.1 MMbbl, or 36%, above the prior 5-year maximum, and 31.6 MMbbl, or 65%, above the 5-year average, leaving inventories at elevated levels.
