The EIA reported total U.S. propane/propylene inventories had a build of 1.3 MMbbl for the week ended September 12, which was less than industry expectations for an increase of 1.6 MMbbl but more than the average build for the week of 1.2 MMbbl. Total U.S. propane stocks are now at 98.9 MMbbl, which is 176 Mbbl, or less than 1%, below the same week in 2024 and 1.8 MMbbl, or 2%, less than the 5-year maximum. Inventories are 9.3 MMbbl, or 10%, above the 5-year average. Based on the five-year average rate of build, storage volumes could hit 103 MMbbl by late October.
