The EIA reported total U.S. propane/propylene inventories had a build of 1.5 MMbbl for the week ended September 5, which was less than industry expectations for an increase of 2.1 MMbbl and the average build for the week of 1.6 MMbbl. Total U.S. propane stocks are now at 97.6 MMbbl, which is 817 Mbbl, or 1%, above to the same week in 2024 but 1.5 MMbbl, or 2%, less than the 5-year maximum. Inventories are 9.4 MMbbl, or 11%, above the 5-year average. Following the five-year average build pace, storage levels may climb to 103 MMbbl by late October.
