U.S. LNG feedgas is climbing again as the maintenance season winds down. Cameron and Freeport appear to be bringing their respective offline trains back online.
Commissioning activity at Golden Pass and Corpus Christi Stage III continues to progress and U.S. LNG feedgas demand averaged 17.8 Bcf/d last week, up about 0.4 Bcf/d week-on-week.
Corpus Christi Stage III Train 6 is now producing LNG, and the train is expected to enter service later this summer, with Train 7 following in the fall. See the picture below of a rendering of the Corpus Christi Stage III LNG expansion project. Feedgas to Corpus Christi is at an all-time high, currently around 3.5 Bcf/d. Train 5 reached substantial completion and is online and Trains 1–4 are in service.
Intake at the terminal will continue increasing as the final parts of the project come online. The Midscale project, which includes Trains 8 and 9, will follow, but likely not until next year. The Stage III project sources feedgas solely through the Agua Dulce to Corpus Christi Pipeline and uses the existing terminal’s marine infrastructure.
With feedgas poised to move back toward 19 Bcf/d, June could mark a return to record-level LNG exports. Stay tuned to the LNG Voyager Weekly report for additional insights.
